Here’s a rough concept sketch of Emily for the upcoming episode of ‘Morganna Of The Borgs’.
I realize there is quite a bit of down time in between each episode being posted. I hate it too but producing each page is a ton of work. From rough layouts all the way through to posting the finished piece online, I log many, many hours creating each part. I don’t have any partners in this — its just me. Its not an excuse for what seems to be a slow pace, its just the truth. I do not have the luxury of working for myself full time, MOTB is not my full time job. How I wish it was. So, I create and keep things going in between everything that I HAVE to do. But I LOVE making MOTB. I call the shots, I create the characters, I write the story. Its keeps me going and I love to entertain with my art. This is my baby. Not a half-assed dabble at something I’m only partially interested in. Maybe one day this WILL become the full time job. I work on making that happen every day.
So. What to do in between while you’re waiting to get the next MOTB installment? I’m not much of a blogger but I’m going to push to put new content out here for you everyday. Whether its scans of some rough sketches that I’m working on or maybe something really cool I found out and about on the web, I have to give you all a reason to keep coming back every day, not just every MOTB episode post. I’m pushing to make 2010 my breakout year. Do it or die trying.
